The challenge
It is vital for a Mobile Network Operator to keep its customers informed with relevant commercial, information. Service usage (bundle consumption, billing...), active promotions (new offers, new services...) and other general information (breaking news, sport...) are all relevant information for the end user.
We realize that the home page of the mobile phone is a valuable place where to offer that service.
The difficult bit sits in the difference of user experience the different mobile platforms, and that one solution does not fit all.

The solution
There are two main areas that should be addressed to implement an effective support and marketing tool that sits in the homepage:
a well designed and flexible back-end interface to simplify the feed data from multiple systems and multiple organizations a compelling user experience. To address that opportunity, the user experience, native on android, has been completely re-designed to fits the different technologies (iOS, WP8)
Working with commercial resources from the customer, Stetel has developed a solution that covers all the identified requirements, and that is today installed on more than 15 million devices.

The challenge
Develop a tracking device that overcome the limits of the actual implementations like accuracy and possibility to work in conditions where GSM signal is weak.

The solution
The core part of the project consisted in the design and implementation of a brand new Tracking Device that enables new location technologies with special attention to the optimization of power consumption.
The new device is equipped with dedicated firmware to enable and manage all local functionalities and integrated into a Back-end that offload some of the most processing-intensive operations.

The challenge
Monitoring of water eutrophication in lakes and closed water basins to ensure the good functioning of re-oxygenation devices.
Because of the nature of the project, the technical components are hosted on floating devices and the geographical location and distribution is atypical.

The solution
The implementation consists in the development of a local system (on board of a floating device/buoy) developed around the Raspberry PI architecture. The capabilities of the device are designed to interface Solar Power system, probes and actuators for the re-oxygenation of water (mainly air compressors).
A backend is collecting info from all controlled components and executes a surveillance function to determine if the system is working correctly. Alarms are sent to the back-end when an issue/malfunction is detected.
Large water basins require the deployment of several buoys to be effective in the re-oxygenation of water. In this case, one Raspberry is installed on each buoy and the communication happens through a meshed network that involves all the deployed devices. The link between the site and the central Back-end is managed by a single master device (in this case one Raspberry is equipped with GSM dongle) or by a communication station located on the shore of the site.

The challenge
Design a Hardware/Software system able to predict specific whether situations that precede an outbreak of key crop and plant diseases.

The solution
In cooperation with scientists from botanic gardens, Stetel has implemented a small and efficient device that interfaces two families of sensors: the first family is a suite of sensors that check weather conditions (temperature, humidity...) the second family checks plants conditions (humidity of the ground, Humidity/water drops on the leaves...) The combination of the collected info is then used to create a model that predicts conditions that are favorable for pest and disease outbreaks.
The devices are then deployed across different plantations and managed by a central monitoring organization.

The challenge
A major international player in the Mobile Communication arena wants to open some of its new services, designed around RCS standards and functionalities, to enable easy integration of third party apps. The intention is to create an ecosystem of contributors that aggregate contents in single user experience.

The solution
Starting from the desired use cases, Stetel has designed new extension for the RCS standards and prepared all necessary documents to support the submission for official approval to GSMA.
Stetel is today contributing to the early integrations of such functionalities with external providers, creating records of successful implementation to support of the standardization process and building evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of the solution.
